Tips on Meal Prepping to Lose Weight Fast!

Meal prepping is the best way to keep your diet on track! It take a little extra work up front, but will drastically help in the long run. Eating clean foods will improve your overall health, help increase your immune system, provide long lasting energy, and the list goes on.

Stick to a schedule and watch the scale begin to drop! Below are some of the best tips and tricks to meal prepping!

1. Make It Easy!!!

Don't over complicate the process. Even if you're not considered the best cook in town, you can still do this! Think of all the microwaved vegetables and rice you can now get at the grocery store. These only take a minute or so to quickly cook.

Chicken is one of the staples of clean eating and meal prepping. It's fairly inexpensive and easy to cook. Switch up your seasonings and throw the chicken in a 425 degree oven for 16-18 minutes. Just make sure the internal temperature is 165 degrees.

2. Switch It Up

If you continuously make the same food over and over, eventually you will give up. It's okay to give into temptations once in awhile, but it should not become habitual. Stick to your high quality proteins, fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Just make sure to have a variety of each to keep it interesting.

If you cook a few different meals at once, you can have a change every day. One day, stick with the chicken prep that I mentioned above. For the next, focus on ground turkey, fish, or lean red meat. All you're looking to do here is to keep it interesting.

3. Don't Be Afraid Of The Frozen Section

Don't be scared to use frozen products to create fresh dishes. You can now purchase frozen rice, frozen mixed vegetables, and frozen lean proteins in the freezer section to help you make meal time easy, straightforward, and healthy. There's a lot to be said about fresh food, but you can mix this all in to make the process easier for you.

4. Have The Right Containers

Refrigerate prepared meats, fruits and vegetables in glass containers. Place them in the front of the fridge so that your eye is drawn to them when you open the doors. It makes the produce more appealing.

Look to invest in the containers that have different compartment sizes. This will help you portion out your meals correctly. You don't want to have your meal being 90% vegetables while eating a sliver of protein.

5. Pick One Day To Prep

Preparing more meals at once makes it easier to stick to the plan. You will have those days where you just don't have time.  Choose one day per week to prepare as many of your dishes as possible. If a week's worth of meals seems daunting, start with two or three days then put together other meals later on in the week. This will help you not feel like you're living in the kitchen.

6. If All Else Fails...

If you find yourself just not able to make it work on your own, there are still options out there for you. Have meal kits delivered to your door by companies like Fresh n Lean. They will send you a variety of meals to keep it interesting. You can even pick from there menu that will give you the total carbs and total protein for the meals.

Meal prepping doesn't need to be challenging! Make it fit with your lifestyle and watch the pounds drop off that scale. Always remember to mix it up and have fun while you're doing it. If anything, you will be a better cook at the end.
