These days, everyone is on social media. Studies have shown that there is almost 4.5 BILLION people that use social media. That is a lot of eyes, and opportunity to get yourself out there and make some extra money. If you start diving in, you will see that there are people making a little side money and some who are making millions of dollars.

There's different platforms and different ways to start generating income. Some may take more time and effort than others, but there's a way to do it. We will dive into some different techniques to start earning cash while being on these social media platforms.
1. Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is the process of earning a commission by promoting the products of another individual or firm. The affiliate simply finds a product they like, promotes it, and earns a portion of the profit from each sale they make. Affiliate links from one website to another are used to track sales.
Most affiliate marketing programs will pay you once there's a sale. There are some out there that will offer compensation to generate leads, clicks, or to increase views. This result based opportunity can easily go from a part-time side gig, to a full-time salary job.
There are different rules/regulations with each social media platform, but for the most part, all platforms allow affiliate marketing to some capacity.
2. Promote Your Own Products/ Skills
Do you have a product or skill that people would find interesting? Social Media is a great way to get those out there and make extra money.
Think outside the box. The opportunities are endless here. If you're a good reader, you can proof read other people's work. Can you print vinyl and adhere it to t-shirts? If you think you're great at typing, you can take audio files and convert them to text.
Use different sites to put yourself out there, then promote yourself on social media. You can sell products on sites like Etsy. Put your skills out there on sites Upwork.
3. Create Leads for Others
There's people out there that have products or services they would like to sell. The problem is, they aren't strong in the marketing department. Take it on yourself to get these products out there. Post them on your own Facebook or Pinterest page with a link that others can visit.
You have options out there that will help you with this process. There's crash courses that will teach you how to get followers, and there's articles all over the internet on the best way to gain attention. Once you have a way to reach a large audience, promote these skills and products, and watch the money roll in.
4. Become a Social Media Manager
It takes time to create pages, pins, and advertisements. There's avenue's you can take where you're managing someone's social media page for them. Think of a restaurant for example. They need someone create posts to discuss new meals, happy hours and parties. It may be cheaper/easier for them to hire you part time, than to have an employee on their payroll.
5. Share Referral Links
Many businesses are abandoning traditional advertising strategies in favor of referral services. This means that they reward customers with freebies and monetary incentives for promoting their products and services.
If you already have a following on social media, this can be a great way to promote. If you're friends like to travel, promote a link that gives you rewards towards travel. Everyone likes shopping. There's sites that will give you money just to have people click their link and buy products.
